“Many Worlds” encompasses the overarching themes of my work. In a literal sense, it reflects my enthrallment with the macrocosm. My favorite hand dyed pieces were inspired by images of nebulae. Conceptually, it celebrates the microcosm, and explores the idea of reality: superposition and perceptions. My paintings are narrative- driven in content, expressed by my perceptions of reality, tension, and distortion. “Many Worlds” describes a longstanding preoccupation with beginnings, roots, and possibilities of: well, most everything.
The “Multimedia” are oil painting, sculpture and fiber arts.
Elements which attract me are line, color, repetition of shapes, and texture. In my weaving and surface designs I especially like enigmatic patterns, reiterating shapes, and tactile-inviting textures. Additionally, I favor vivid contrast in my paintings.
